Because of the dreadful, destructive devastation of the Indonesian Tsunamis, the Patchouli trees and crops were completely wiped out. Suppliers with any remaining Patchouli essential oils are charging upwards of 10.00 an ounce, with prices expected to go even higher. At Victoria's Natural Soap, our Patchouli has long been a best seller because we use this dark very fragrant variety of essential oil. We anticipated this shortage some time ago and have a good stock at hand for our customers. So you can rest assured that although some companies are using a lesser variety or fragrance oils, our products will remain consistent with the quality you've come to expect.
